Ras Judah and Culture Embassy is a 9-piece Wellington-based band of varying cultural backgrounds, hence the name.
The band has been playing since 2013 and features musicians from around the globe including Botswana, Cuba, Ghana, UK, Japan, and Kiwi-born Indian, Malaysian, and Greek backgrounds.
The cultural diversity of the band is reflected in the sound of their music. They play a foot-tapping fusion of upbeat Afro-Folk, Reggae, Jazz, Latin, Brit/Euro-Folk, and Kiwiana tunes.
